The Teen Program
Our teen program, designed specifically for ages 13-17, provides meaningful experiences today so teens are ready to chase their dreams tomorrow. The teen program is free and provides teens with a fun and safe place to come after school and during the summer.
Teens participate in programs that teach Independent living skills, and focus on academic success, career preparation and community service. Teen Director, Nicole Hensley’s aim is to positively impact teens, their Club and the local community. All within their own space inside the Club!
The Summer program includes field trips, college tours, and other activities that expose young teens to enriching experiences.
What is Youth of the Year?
For over 70 years, the Youth of the Year program has honored and celebrated the nation’s most inspiring teens and their incredible journeys. Each year, one exceptional club member is selected to be the National Youth of the Year, serving as an ambassador for Boys & Girls Club Youth as well as a voice for all of our nation’s young people.
2024 Youth of the Year – Jaimason Sturdivant
Jaimason a freshman at Happy Valley High School, was shy and reserved when he arrived at the club in 2018. He credits the Boys & Girls Club and its staff for giving him the direction he needed to be happy and successful.
Jaimason has volunteered to give club tours to visitors and participated in the teen car wash. “Taking part in club activities and talking to different people helped develop my social skills. Thanks to the Boys & Girls Club I have memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.”
